In the Earth Time. Italian Pavillion

GROUP EXHIBITION _ Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale, KOCEF Korea

Yeoju Dojasesang (World Ceramic Livingware Gallery)

curated by Irene Biolchini. Organized by International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, in collaboration with Korea Ceramic Foundation

The title of the exhibition refers to the technical conditions of time, but also to an additional dimension of time on Earth, which can be interpreted as the time we are called to live upon the earth, or our physical and mortal dimension. The selected artists’ work considers our time on Earth as something temporary and very much based upon the human exploitation of natural sources.

Following the main theme of the Ceramic Biennale, Ode to Life, the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza presents four generations of artists, all involved in the numerous editions of the Faenza Prize, the oldest ceramics prize in Italy. The Prize becomes the filter through which one can interpret the evolution of Italian ceramics, but also an instrument that can be adopted to measure how those different generations of artists dealt with the very same concept.

Artists: Salvatore Arancio, Francesco Ardini, Nicola Boccini, Silvia Celeste Calcagno, Chiara Camoni, Francesca Carone, Giacinto Cerone, Antonella Cimatti, Mirco Denicolò, Giorgio Di Palma, Giuseppe Ducrot, Marino Ficola, Luca Freschi, Monika Grycko, Ana Hillar, Luciano Laghi, Chiara Lecca, Matteo Lucca, Nero/Alessandro Neretti, Paolo Polloniato, Giovanni Ruggiero, Andrea Salvatori.

A FIOR DI PELLE

SOLO SHOW presso Istituzione Bologna Musei | Collezioni Comunali d’Arte, Palazzo d’Accursio, Bologna

SAY IT WITH FLOWERS! Flowers and artificial nature since 1960.

Group Exhibition_MUSEUM SCHLOSS MOYLAND, Bedburg Hau, Germany

Curated by Alexander Gronert.

Flowers are one of the oldest subjects in art. Their continuing relevance prompted the exhibition “Say it with flowers! Flowers and artificial nature since 1960”, which will be on display this summer in the exhibition hall, parts of the castle building and the museum’s park complex.

Flowers are a part of nature that “speaks” to us. But how do flowers address us and what topics are being dealt with in contemporary artistic representations of flowers? What is beauty and what does the term nature mean in light of genetic engineering and the steadily increasing range of possibilities to produce nature in the lab?

With these questions in mind, the exhibition brings together works of painting and sculpture as well as installations and projections of moving images to stage a major show. The artists in the exhibition include internationally known figures such as Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Joseph Beuys, Georg Baselitz, Jörg Immendorff, David Hockney and Pipilotti Rist.

In addition, the exhibition features contemporary works by younger artists who handled the subject of flowers in very different ways. Among them are Alexandra Regan Toland, Chiara Lecca, Vera Lossau and Anja Ciupka.

LEARNING FROM LASCAUX

Group Exhibition MUSEUM OF PREHISTORY “PAOLO GRAZIOSI”, Florence, Italy.

Curated by Fabio Carnaghi.

The Museum of Prehistory Paolo Graziosi in collaboration with the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence and with the support of ARK Cultural Property and Contemporary presents “Learning from Lascaux”, an exhibition of contemporary art in dialogue with the prehistoric collection of the museum.
The exhibition focuses on the practice of Italian artists that binds to the material culture and identifies the primary characters, almost rudimentary gesture, the position in space, the return of the pre-existing form of survival.
